This place is located between s'Horta and Cas Concos. Most of its inhabitants live scattered in the countryside. The name "Es Carritxó" refers not only to the small cluster of houses around the estate, built at the beginning of the century, and the lands partitioned from it, but also to other neighbouring fields. The place evolved from the 18th century onwards, from the gradual parcelling of the estates of Binifarda, Es Carritxó, Sa Badalona and Son Barceló.

In 1759, a public oratory consecrated to St. Anthony was inaugurated in the Es Carritxó estate houses. Towards the end of the 19th century, they built a larger church. In 1910, they inaugurated a school and declared it as public in 1918. Later, according to the plans of Guillem Forteza, they constructed a larger building. In 1916, the Franciscan Sisters founded a house dedicated to the care of the sick and the education of young children and girls, which existed until 1970.
