On Tuesday the 24th, the "Málaga y la Mar" cycle organized by the Maritime Heritage Vocalía is sponsored by the Provincial Council.
The complete program that runs until the end of the year will be presented by the president of the Athenaeum, Mrs. Victoria Abón and includes various presentations and gatherings.
On the 24th at 8:00 p.m., a round table is held around the Coast Science Chair of the Costa del Sol, an interesting project that from the UMA wants to provide solutions for the conservation and improvement of our coastline and provide tools to the managers of the different public administrations with competences in the matter.
The table is entitled "The Chair of Science of the Coast of the Costa del Sol. A scientific tool in search of Excellence in the coastal environment" and it will take part D. Francisco Franco Duro, Technical Director of the Chair; Mr. Miguel Méndez Pozo, Technical Director of the Beach Area of the City of Malaga; Mr. Antolín de Benito, Head of Exploitation of Axaragua; and Mr. Pedro Peña Chacón, Manager of the Water Company of Torremolinos.
The act will include a screening.
The patrons of the Chair are Aguas y Saneamientos de Torremolinos, SA; Empresa Municipal de Aguas, SA; and the Commonwealth of Municipalities Costa del Sol Axarquía. It is promoted by the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, Crystallography and Mineralogy of the UMA, its director is Mr. Francisco I. Franco Duro, Doctor of Science and Professor of the Area of Crystallography and Mineralogy of the University of Malaga, with research focused on the solution of environmental problems, such as the study of the nature of the creams of the Malaga coast and the factors that influence their appearance.
The Maritime Heritage Vocalía was created in November 2017 to address the relationship of our city with the sea from the historical, artistic, anthropological, geographical, economic and environmental points of view. Organize a monthly gathering, presentations and round tables.
