MaF 2020, organized by the Malaga Festival in order to think about the present, dialogue with the event, through the different activities that make up its programming, while the cinematographic discipline is valued, seeks to boost the cultural fabric and contribute to enhance the trajectory of established and emerging artists. In this line, the exhibition of long-distance artist, José Medina Galeote, 'On size / Over the size' is framed, a proposal that is based on a set of canvases that exhibit a series of paintings made specifically for this project and they establish new relationships with each other, as they are paintings that dialogue with other paintings: this has to do with the concrete way in which these works can be seen, since they subvert the normalized use in the perception of them, without losing on the other hand Your own nature or reason for being. An exhibition that experiments with the physical idea of magnitude, linked to the work of art itself and how it comes to be perceived by the viewer, in relation to the different associative possibilities that could arise between piece-piece and piece-circumcising.

José Medina Galeote has a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Granada. He is a PhD student at BBAA and new Technologies and a University Expert in contemporary art and aesthetic theory from the UMA, a university where he has also worked as a teacher. He has done important workshops in Tate London, KW Berlin or CGAC Galicia which are just a few examples. He has obtained scholarships of recognized prestige such as Hangar Barcelona, Vázquez Díaz or Rodríguez-Acosta Foundation of Granada, among many others.

His work has been the subject of numerous individual and collective exhibitions in national and international centers of guaranteed interest, citing as examples the Center Pompidou Málaga, thanks to the collaboration of MaF / Festival de Málaga, CAC Málaga or CASA de Salamanca.
