The Literary Ateneo, Arts and Sciences of Puerto Real continues to develop its extensive program of cultural activities designed for this spring. Thus, this Friday, May 10, the plenary hall of the City Hall located in the Plaza de Jesus will host the presentation of the second novel written by Javier Fajardo Sánchez under the name of "Identity: Roots and wings." The act where will be announced the new creation of the also ateneist, will begin at eight o'clock in the afternoon.
About the author, it is worth mentioning that although he was born in Jimena de la Frontera in 1947, he lived until he was 16 years old in Algeciras. Subsequently, he graduated in Theology from the University of Salamanca in 1971, at the time he entered to work in Astilleros as a blacksmith. In 1975, he is ordained a priest and forms part of the so-called worker priests. Thus, his social commitment makes him a member of the clandestine working group of Workers' Committees, reaching union responsibilities at the local, regional and state levels, as well as forming part of the works council. On the other hand, his political concerns lead him to the military in the Communist Party first and then in the United Left. However it is not until his retirement when Javier Fajardo gives free rein to his literary creation, which begins with a book written with Francisco Burguillos under the title "History of the workers movement. The Working Commissions of Cádiz ". Later, at age 70, he published his first personal work "My stories and my story", which is followed in 2018 by the novel "Modern Times", the latter under the edition of Judith's Gardens, as well as the new publication that is presented this Friday.
