Escampolo Theater, first prize at the V National Competition of Amateur Theater
With the play "Mariana Pineda" Garcia Lorca
Escampolo Seville Theater group has won the V National Contest Amateur Theater 'La Barraca de Lorca' Piornal, for the representation of 'Mariana Pineda' by Federico García Lorca. This work has received four awards of the ten awarded by the jury, such as First Prize for Best Editing, Special Audience Award, Best Direction and Best Costume Design. The second prize went to 'The Magic Box', the group Les Figuretes, Guipuzcoa, who also won the Award for Best Supporting Actress and Best Costume. The award for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Actor, was for Rivas the curtain Madrid group, for his work 'A Streetcar Named Desire' and the Award for Best Set Design was for the Sphinx salmantino group theater, for his work 'Tejas Verdes'.
The closing ceremony was held on Saturday and was directed by Asunción Mieres director of the company Teatro Emulsion, who served as emcee of the event. In addition to these awards to participating groups this year, the Department of Culture of the City of Piornal, has created a special prize 'Piornal is Culture', which in this first edition has been given to the Director of the Classical Theater Festival of Mérida Jesús Cimarro, who attended the gala to receive the award.
