The Diputación de Cádiz and the Federation of Athenaeums of Andalusia establish new ways of collaboration.
Irene García receives representatives of the Athenaeums of the province of Cádiz after the renewal of the regional board of directors
The Diputación de Cádiz is committed to strengthening the existing alliances and creating new ways of collaboration with the Athenians of the province in order to encourage the active participation of citizens in cultural and scientific activities. That is the clear purpose that the president Irene García has transmitted to a representation of the Federation of Athenians of Andalusia .
The provincial deputy of Culture, Salvador Puerto , has accompanied the president in a meeting called for the renewal of the board of directors of the Federation. In the same have participated the new president, José Manuel Simancas Berraquero; Ignacio Moreno Aparicio , president of the Ateneo de Cádiz; Juan Jesús Benítez Corpas , vice president of the Athenian of Chiclana; Manuel Reyes Vara , president of the Ateneo de Sanlúcar de Barrameda; and María Gutiérrez Bellido , vice president of the Ateneo de Jerez.
Among the five Cadiz Athenaees - Cádiz, Jerez, Algeciras, Chiclana and Sanlúcar - there are almost a thousand atheists, which shows the potential of these institutions as promoters of cultural actions. In this sense, both the atheists and the president of the Provincial Council agreed on the opportunity for the province to join efforts for the implementation of new artistic, literary or scientific initiatives that, as a clear objective, should reach an wider population sector, especially the young public.
To achieve this, those responsible for the Federation of Athenaeums and the Provincial Cultural Foundation will maintain new contacts to give shape to concrete proposals focused on promoting the participation of citizens.
In another vein, Irene García offered the Federation "absolute collaboration" for the organization of the X Meeting of Atheists of Andalusia to be held next year 2019 in Sanlúcar de Barrameda at the request of the host Athenaeum on the occasion of the celebration of the fifth centenary of the first round the world .
Irene García has conveyed to the atheists her conviction that the Encuentro in Sanlúcar "should become a major event of a scientific, historical and investigative nature at a key moment for the development of the town and the province as a whole."
