I Prize for Research and Essay on Therapeutic Applications of Art

The María José Jove Foundation announces the First Prize for Research and Essay on Therapeutic Applications of Art , a call that aims to contribute to the study, dissemination and praxis of art as a therapeutic tool; at the same time that encourage contemporary thinking from interdisciplinarity.
They can opt for the Prize for Research and Essay on Therapeutic Applications of Art María José Jove Foundation 2018 over 18 years of age, of any nationality and place of residence, which must present a monograph on a subject related to art as a therapeutic means, and can be addressed from different referential fields: artistic, philosophical, sociological, psychological, educational, psychotherapeutic, anthropological, etc. The works will have a minimum length of 100 and a maximum of 150 numbered pages.
The jury of the Prize for Research and Testing of Therapeutic Applications of Art María José Jove Foundation 2018 will be integrated by the President of the Foundation, Felipa Jove , the director of the FMJJ Collection, project director and exhibition curator Susana González , the lecturer, writer , researcher and project director Jorge Blasco, the current director of the MUSAC, writer, art critic and exhibition curator Manuel Olveira , the psychiatrist and essayist Guillermo Rendueles and, the psychoanalyst and expert in psychoanalytic theory and artistic languages Montserrat Rodríguez . The commission will especially value those works that stand out for their originality, analysis and interdisciplinary relationship. In addition, the mode of exposure, clarity, coherence, rhythm and formal correction will be assessed.
The prize for the winning work will consist in the delivery of the amount of six thousand euros (€ 6,000). The María José Jove Foundation will reserve the right to publish the editions of the winning work that it deems appropriate, in any form, territory, language or modalities.
