This place is situated between Campos, Felanitx and Porreres. It developed from the disintegration of Son Mesquida, which had already evolved into the estates of Son Mesquidassa, Son Mallol and Son Mesquida. The actual foundation of the village took place in the 19th century, particularly with the division of Son Mallol, an estate with an oratory in the 18th century. In 1803, the owner of Son Mesquida built a new oratory on his property, which was later enlarged. And in 1925, the present oratory was built, consecrated to Our Lady of Mount Carmel (Virgen del Carmen), which was also used as a school.

The residents of the hamlet of Son Mesquida are scattered all over the Segunda Volta area, between the roads to Porreres and Campos.
