This small hamlet with a scattered population and a cluster of houses around the chapel is situated between Campos, Ca's Concos des Cavaller and Felanitx. It developed from the division of Son Sales, owned by Bartomeu Obrador, nicknamed "Negret" and who later gave name to the place (1577).

In 1817 they founded an oratory consecrated to the Immaculate Conception, so that the inhabitants of the area would not have to go all the way to Son Tauler.

The area grew substantially, especially between the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. In 1924 they built a school (it is documented that the architect Guillem Forteza worked on the plans) and in 1938 the church was built as a vicarage. Since 1974, the school has not been used as such, and nowadays hosts socio-cultural activities.
