In 1885 the construction works began to create a host location for the Congregation of the Oratory in Porreres. In 1886 the parents of St Felipe Neri de Palma arrived in Porreres and temporarily settled in a house in Calle de Cerdà. Soon the new foundation was inaugurated, the chapel was blessed and the first stone was laid. The current building was completed in 1911 after several interruptions.

The church was built according to the plans of Pere d'Alcàntara Penya and blessed by bishop Campins.

This construction exhibits a latin cross plan, with a sophisticated chapel on the right arm. The central nave is covered with a barrel-vault and arches supported by piers. It has four side chapels on the right side and three on the left side.
