The Auditorium stands on the site of the old Principal Cinema, then known as Can Boterí. In 2003 the Town Hall acquired the premises and a complete renovation of the building followed. It was publicly opened on the 9th of August 2008 and is managed through the foundation Fundació de l’Auditori de Porreres.

The two-storey building stands among town-houses with its two frontages on different streets: the main entrance faces Carrer d’En Cerdà, while its side-entrance is on Carrer de l’Almoina.

It has seating for 390 people (240 in the stalls, 150 in the circle). The stage is 14 metres wide and 14 metres deep, it is 12 metres high.

The upper floor houses several classrooms, used by local bodies such as the Music School, the Porreres Filharmonic Orchestra, the traditional music group Aires de Monti-sion, the traditional music group s’Estol Porrerenc, the Porreres Choir, and the Grup Foganya theatre group, among others.
