Beside the country road Camí de Marina, there was once a simple cross called La Creu d’en Net, which dated from the 16th Century. Gradually it became a place of devotion as, according to folklore, the place had miraculous effects. Its alleged healing properties gained great renown throughout Mallorca, in particular during the early 18th Century and, as a result, on the 26th of July 1722, a single-hall temple with two side chapels was planned there, within which the cross still stands.
