Shrine of Our Lady of Sancho Abarca

It is a set that includes hostel, hospital and church, begun in 1670, lasted until the first third of the eighteenth century.

It is located on the hills of the Bardenas near the Navarre bordering the White Stripes Bardena. Ranked atop a hillock southeast of Black Flat, becoming an amazing lookout over the southern portion of the Bardenas and much of the Vega del Ebro

The chapel where the image of the Virgin of Sancho Abarca appeared near the April 7, 1569, the feast of Holy Thursday, is worshiped is a focus of pilgrimages county of Aragon and Navarre. It was built from 1670 and was completed in the early eighteenth century. Is rectangular, single nave covered with vault with lunettes and chapels between the buttresses. The main chapel topped by a dome on pendentives.

The Sanctuary is the center of two annual pilgrimages, May and September, the taustanos held in honor of the Virgin of Sancho Abarca.

The site offers visitors endless possibilities: hiking, cycling, discovering a natural area of ??great scenic characterized by a striking morphology, tabular reliefs, canyons, tips, etc..

Your steppe vegetation is composed of strong coscojo Underwood, mastic, thyme, sandwiched pine and farmland.

Cobija own faunal species such as wild boar, wild cat, dormouse, golden eagles, quail, hares and rabbits.

They can practice some sports like hang gliding and paragliding given its topography and drafts. Also hunting, although this has to be done in a controlled manner without damaging the environment.

The old inn Shrine of Our Lady of Sancho Abarca Taussig has changed in August 2012 on a two star hotel after the works of reform undertaken by the City of Taussig.
